I have been Art Directing commercials for twenty years and have worked with some of London’s most prestigious production companies and award-winning directors. Including Blink, Outsider, Thomas-Thomas, Paul Gay, James Rouse, Dougal Wilson and Kevin Thomas.
I studied at Camden Art Centre and St Martin’s School of Art before travelling around Europe and America, assisting the fashion photographer and artist, Michael Roberts for four years.
However, my real interests lay in film and I quickly rose from runner on a children’s TV drama to assistant art director on Sally Potter’s “Orlando”, to art directing features (including Gwyneth Paltrow in “Emma”), before making the jump to designing commercials in 1996.
With experience I have become skilled at producing quick, cost effective solutions to the various challenges inherent in most scripts and working around the diverse problems that shooting on location can present, but as I cut my teeth in set design, I am equally at home building something from scratch on a stage.
